I have had this 2002 Volvo S60 for about a month and have had problems with it for a while...the newest is that the indicator is telling me "service alarm system" what could this be and is it something that is going to cause problems?

When this happened on my 99 S80 T6, it turned out to be the wires connected to the little battery inside the alarm siren module had been eaten away by leaking fluid from the little battery. I purchased a new siren module and installed it. There is a nice post on how to repair or replace the siren module in the S80 forum. My first symptom was that the alarm went off on its own one day. Others may have other ideas... You should perhaps try to get an DTC's read in order to confirm or point you in another direction...
Oh, also, it might be a good idea to put a little more description in your subject line. 'New Problems' doesn't really say much...

The alarm module is in the right front fender and looks to be a royal pain in the arse to get to. The batteries go bad and you have to replace the entire unit, they're not designed to have the battery replaced. I decided to just live with the stupid light. Obnoxious design.

I just replaced my siren w/c I bought from Tasca for $165 S/H included. The security bolt was a PITA to remove. The new unit was an OEM and came with the housing w/c was not really needed because the old one was reusable.
