Strange Issue - Electrical??

I was driving to work and something happens to my V70 that I have never seen before.

The following happens simultaneously:

The Brake light comes on (not the parking break light - the other one that means your break fluid is low).
THe ABS light comes on.
The tripometer and speedometer readout only list dashes.
The Speedometer stops working - drops to zero.
I lose alot of power - it feels like the rpm is 1/3 normal.

My only thought is that it is an electrical issue.

Also, the check engine light is not on - so there will probably not be a fault code.

Same thing happened to me. I replaced the ABS module and that did the trick. You can buy refurbished ones on line and it is an easy replacement. I found out how to do it online. Step by step instructions. Saved me a lot of money.

OOOOkkkk, looks like you are correct - there's a few posts about this issue with the identical problems listed.

So, a followup question for anyone: Can I drive my car after I disconnect my ABS module? I'm not sure if I can fix it myself or not until I take a look at it.

Man, I love this site - the information is priceless!

I found a few links...The bba-reman is a solid company - I sent an ABS unit to them for my other volvo - an S80, but it had different issues.
