1996 850 immobilizer

I had to jump start my 1996 850. After getting the battery charged, the vehicle will not start. The red LED in the dash stays red all the time, except when the doors are locked from the outside, which causes the LED to strobe, very fast.

How do I reset the immobilizer? I'm trying to avoid having my vehicle towed 120 miles to the nearest Volvo dealership.

Try resetting the ECU by pulling it out and putting it back in. If that doesn't work, I do have some info on this that I can dig up later.

One question...where is the ECU in a 1996 850?
