Low Coolant light?

Post by LBHoffer »

ok so, i'm not too car savvy.

But I recently had a crack in my thermostat housing that was leaking a small amount of coolant, had that replaced.
Now however when I run my car all the coolant leaves the resevoir tank, and doesn't go back in unless I remove the cap, as a result my low coolant light comes on. I have also replaced my coolant resevoir cap as the gasket was beginning to flake a bit.

Anyone know what may be the cause of this?!?!?!

thanks in advance

Something in the collant system is expanding, most likley the radiator hoses. How do you know the coolant leaves the expansion tank?

I forgot to mention that when driving my car there is a loud squeal upon acceleration....could this be a problem to do with the water pump?

Check your drive belts for wear/loose, spray belt dressing on the belts then, gun the motor in neutral squeak should disappear.
