It may also be worth a minute to check the lamp in that turn/marker fixture.
Someone may have crammed the wrong one in there...Compare it to the left.

So I need to check what the lamp assemblies are physically touching or a common wire that they share that is bolted to the frame?

First of all - The lamp fixtures are plastic. No ground there.
Now, going back to a previous post, the ground wires for both of these fixtures
runs up to the dash and they share a ground up there at ground point 31/52.
That's what I would check.

If they're connected to each other, like they should be, but NOT making a good
connection to the ground up there in the dash where they come together, the
kind of symptoms you've described could occur.

To get deeper into this, you can download all the wiring info here:

Thanks for that info man. That is something I understand. The 31/52 is going to be near impossible for me to just go in and find though. I think I'll just take out the glove box and radio and see if I can see where those color wires are going once they come past the firewall. Any tips you can give me to find 31/52 would be great.

As a side note: I don't understand how these lights could work at all if they were disconnected from ground or corroded. Any way you could explain it in lamens terms?

Download the diagrams and look for the grounding point pages.
The book is laid out kinda strange because it was scanned in a hurry,
but once you get familiar with it, there's a ton of good stuff in there.

I haven't dug into that problem for a 2000, yet. May be a while.
Leaves are falling here and I've got a lot to do right now.

So I think I realized another sympton of my issue. The tail lights are out and get no electricity to them. I say this because not even new bulbs will light up once installed. Any other ideas...
