I'm having trouble bringing up past threads right now, so hopefully someone can help me with this. Ok, about the pnp switch, It was my belief that the switch on the wagon was bad, because I'm getting codes 322, and 313, so I took the switch off the glt that I own, and moved it over. I'm still getting those codes. I don't know if I'm aligning it properly, again, I'm having problems bringing up past threads for some reason. When I put the switch into the reverse position, I can't get the lights to go out, they just stay on, no matter how I move the switch I'm moving the transmission into reverse, right at the switch, not with the shifter. Am I doing something wrong? After the battery is unhooked for a while, it drives fine for about a 1/2 mile, and than right into limp mode.

As long as the reverse lights go out when you move the switch into N or P positions, your alignment is good. Find somewhere right in the middle of those limits and set the switch there for the 'R' position.

Ok, I did the alignment as per instructions, but the problem is still there. After the battery has been unhooked, it will drive fine for a short distance, and than back into limp mode. Also, when shifting from drive to reverse, it slams into reverse pretty hard. The pnp switch came off the glt that I was driving. That car had no problems. Could this be a fluid problem, because I haven't drained the fluid to see how bad it is. Is the fact that it doesn't go into limp mode right away a good thing, or could the tranny still be toast. The tranny codes that I'm getting are 322, and 313.

Time to look at the fluid. Slamming into reverse probably means it's black as used motor oil.

Ok, I had 7 quarts of tranny fluid to use, so I drained the transmission, than filled. After that, I used what I had left to drain, and fill using the method of letting the car run, and allowing the fluid to drain out of the hose going into the top of the radiator. After 7 quarts, the fluid is still very dark, and not the least bit clear. And by the way, yes, the fluid was totally black when I first drained it. The transmission still shifts hard into reverse, but I'm only getting one code now, 233. Do you think it's worth buying more fluid to ensure that the tranny has clean bright red fluid? I ask, because with the 7 quarts that I used, I'm still going into limp mode. I'm also considering buying a new pnp switch to eliminate that variable. I have a used transmission that can be switched in, but I need to remove it from the glt that I have.
