My new engine came with a yellow polyurethane bushing, don't know from who, I lived with it for a year, then went back to rubber, and am happy I did. I should add that I replaced several other mounts at the same time. Night and day difference, vibrations at idle are almost completely gone. I have no plans to go back to poly.

I did the freezer "trick" and there is no way in hell that you can "put in a stock bushing easily," I still had to make a press out of a long bolt and a couple pipe flanges. If the stock bushing goes in easy, somethings wrong, it is supposed to be an interference/press fit.

I installed a poly bushing and there was no extra vibration. I don't know where that idea came from.

I put in a poly torque mount bushing and promptly took it back out for a rubber (OEM style) one. Too much vibration.

I don't mind the poly until it hits 15f or lower, it's almost rock solid at that point and the rattle is even louder at 0f or below.

Never really thought about it but that makes a lot of sense. These people who like poly live in warmer climates. When I tried it out it was during the winter.

The past few winters we've had several mornings where it hit -20f. That mount might as well have been solid at that point..it would rattle the shit out of the dashboard all day long.

I may change mine out for an OEM before winter.

This might be true. I've only driven mine down to 15f and didn't experience any vibration. Even at colder temps once the engine warms up the bushing should warm along with the engine bay so it might just be an extreme cold start issue. It wouldn't be enough to deter me especially with a manual transmission which is more prone to shock loads.

My poly bushing is solid and so far so good. May be a tad more vibration at stop light but otherwise zero issues, wife and daughter don't even notice it.

I remember reading somewhere that people drill a few holes in the Poly before install.
The holes help smooth out the vibration.

On the other hand, as I mentioned above, the Lemforder Bushing is only $5, just use the OEM Lemforder and change it out every 40-50K.

To all those experiencing vibration with a poly mount, spare a thought for all the other engine mounts which may LOOK fine but have probably done their dash. You may just be sending the vibes to the weakest mount. I would be loathe to comment on vibration unless starting from stage 0 with all the mounts. FCP have a voided poly top mount I am keen to try next time.
