I posted a problem last year re a clattering in the front end of my 03 V70,my left front tire sounded like a knobby snow tire.
I have now had the following work done,each time it was to have solved the problem,Both hubs replaced,Lower contol arms,
Sway bar links,New struts cw strut mount bearings and and spring seats,rear shocks as well,Front brakes and pad still ok.
Well the clatter is still bugging me as well tire noise,rotating and balancing makes no difference,Its not sway bar bushings..
Its in the left front suspension as the sound is not heard from the passenger seat.Now I HATE this car ,Dim quit,Alarm quit,
Leak in J hose shows as vaccum leak,Had to have the trany and throttle body reprogrammed.. I should have traded it off $$$ ago but it only has 160000Km on it..
I have owned the following 544,122,240,240T,740,V70,S70,and V70.. Most ran to 360K to 529.000Km.Never had one this bad.

Buy a Citroen - still have all those issues, and worse, but at least you expect a citroen to be shit!!! In all seriousness though, I do feel for you. had a few cars like that myself, where nothing you do ever makes it better. Get rid, but get another Volvo - as it looks like you had a few, and I'm guessing you were happy with them.

Had an old Sierra, many years back - same problem. In the end, they replaced the whole front suspension system - drastic, but cured it, however, the car was only a year old, and I only had to pay a small contribution, and think I just got lucky

I had a DS21 2 tone blue,picked it Very Cheap,low k, 2 years old,some one pried it loose shortly after for 5x my cost price.
I may get a Sm from an elderly neighbor,,I would love to have a 2CV, ok so I must be nuts as who needs more problems..
Raced my 544 as well as the122 amazon,No problems only tires and brakes not like current computer reliant cars.

Had a GS Pallas - loved it - most comfortable ride I ever had, but cost me £'s every month to keep it on the road. An old girlfriend bought a new AX (over 20 years ago now), and I have never been in such a cheap feeling car in my life (was nippy though) - built like a paper box, and spent more time being repaired than running. The BX was ok, but, again, the early ones had wierd indicator controls, and interior was cheap and plastic looking - ride was good though, but like most citreons, they didn't corner too well! The only other car I ever owned that was as cheap and plastic looking inside was a Probe - and used a Chrysler Neon in work once - which had the leather interior and all the other extras thy could throw at it, and that felt even cheaper and flimsy - it even made the leather seats feel like PVC! Cheap and flimsy interiors are my pet hate !
