Just lately my 03 V70 when driving at any speed develops a miss ,pull over put it out of gear, rev engine and the miss
is there at any rpm,not a bad miss, but a miss,No Check engine light, turn off the engine, start it again and the miss is gone..
This will happen once a day or every other day, I do the same thing each time, engine off ,miss gone,Any takers on this one?
Develops a miss ,and then
I am at a loss to understand how turning off an engine and resarting and then it runs smoothly ,how would a spark plug or coilwire seem to resolve themselves in an instant? the new plugs have gone 6500kl,no loss of coolant.
Hi since my last post re miss and then, the problem has been found to be the throtle body (ETM),a new one from Volvo
is $700.00 down from a previous hi of $1200.. A company in Missassauga will shortly have preprogramed ones for under $300.. This was the same story when my Sim failed, Volvo wanted $1200 for a new inst cluster..paid $350 ..

That's good info - can you post name/contact address for the company/source that helped with cluster and ETM? Pretty sure that we all may have to use it at some point.

Up to 2001 not 2000
The newer throttle bodies usually do not have an issue as they're of a different design
I would suggest that a proper cleaning may have done the trick but there have been instances where 03s and newer throttles have gone bad.
As in any car, any part can go bad at any time

Was cleaned at a Volvo dealership the mechanic said it was not very dirty to begin with,But the ETM is causing my
problem, seems it changes its programme ? every so often and produces the problem and should be replaced..
Well thats the story I am being told..So I will have to wait for the later model ETM which thay say is about a month away..
