Hi all - I recently bought a 2005 XC90 V8. The trunk floor lifts to reveal a thin storage compartment. Then under that is the battery, some tools, the space where the 3rd row seat bottoms slide into, and some empty space. That thin storage compartment has been bugging me - what is it for? A sheet of paper? A pen? I put a cheapo ice scraper there, which fit but only barely.

Are you talking about the load floor lift up panel?
That is the panel you lift up and then put the elastic straps around 2 litre bottles and such to keep them from rolling about.
