85 760 Turbo- lower radiator hose

Post by turbo no/go »

I wanted to add that once I start the car it reaches a high temp quickly, it's about 90 degrees today, and then I shut it off and all the coolant backs up into the expansion tank.
If I let it cool and release the cap, the coolant mostly all drains out of the tank as if it's going to the radiator, then when the car reaches running temp again it all goes back into the tank, as if it's not going into the water pump/engine, or circulating at all.
There's plenty of coolant, no leaks, and I've checked the wiring for the cooling fan/thermostat.
Should I flush the cooling sytem? Is there some component I'm unaware of? :?:  :?:

I replaced the thermostat and it still wants to run hot. It's got to be the water pump right?
The cooling system has been flushed, new coolant added, all hoses checked, fuses checked, the tension on the water pump belt feels right, although it's new(2 weeks old) could that have something to do with it?
