95-940 - engine knock Topic is solved

Why does the engine knock? I only use 93 oct. gas, the knock sensor's been replaced, and at least 2 mechanics are scratching their heads. Car sounds like a rolling crap game. Car has 170K mi. - is it just shot?

When you say engine knock are you refering to bearing or piston knock or detonation when the engine is under load? Higher octane fuel reduces the occuance of detonation but has no effect of the mechanical condition of the engine.
