When i start the car the rpm goes straight to 5000 rpm! How do i fix this? This is a 1998 v70 t5.
i installed the cable in the firewall into the pedal. The new cable didn't come with a spring, soo i used the old spring from the broken one. Is there suppose to be a spring in the firewall connection?
Plz help!

Disconnect the throttle plate linkage at the end of the intake manifold, start the car, and see what the idle is. Maybe you routed the cable wrong or something. Maybe this pic will help.

That triangular throttle arm needs to be touching the idle screw - look for it and you'll see it. Adjust the plastic screw part at the top of the bracket there until you get it to touch.
