New rear speakers???

I have a 1998 S70 with one back speaker that sounds like trash. I removed the rear panel (thanks to good advice on this sight) and found that it's not a broken plastic tweeter holder, but a bad speaker. I've read how to try and repair the speaker but would rather just replace them with another set. It's very difficult to locate 8ohm speakers at your local sterio shop and the dealer wants to rape you for a set of factory ones. Does anybody have a suggestion on this. I know I'm not the first to have this problem. I don't want to do a major sterio change or anything, just change or possibly upgrade my rear speakers. Oh yeah, it's Monday night and I plan to take it on a long trip Thursday night. I'm in a bit of a hurry. HELP.

Call independent Volvo shops in your area for working, used speakers. Or try eBay Buy It Now sales. If it's nearby, buying and shipping them to you is conceivable, if a bit risky timewise.

Depending on how much you want to pay, try Crutchfield.com They have good name brands and will include a lot of helping instructions and tips. You could always have shipped overnight or 2-day.

You could upgrade just the rear deck now and the others later

Are the rear speakers in the '98's also 8ohms like in my '93? If they are and you replace the rear deck speakers with regular after-market ones, you will need to disconnect the rear door speakers so you don't overload the head unit.
