Hi Everyone,
I've sold my base 1998 V70 and had high hopes of up upgrading to a 1998 S70 GLT or T5. I thought I had found one that looked good (online, at least). The problem? I am located in Oklahoma City and the car is in Dallas.
If I was serious about the car the drive would not be a big deal - however, I ran a Carfax on the car last night and I have a question for anyone who can help.
The Carfax indicated there has only been one owner of the car. However, the last reported milage of the car was in 2001 and it was reported at 18,000. Now, in 2006, the car has a reported milage of 125,000 (at least by the dealer). So - what is the deal? Why is 4 years of the car's life missing from Carfax? What can this indicate? I called the dealer and asked what was up and he could not give me any answers, saying he bought it at auction. Although the car looks great and he claims its in good running condition, should I be concerned about the Carfax? I hate to drive all the way down there for no good reason. I would not be so hung up on this car except that I need to get a new one somewhat soon and I had my heart set on a T5 or a GLT in good cond. and there are very few around here that have had less than 3 owners.
Anyway, thanks for any help or info anyone can provide. The VIN of the car is YV1LS5378W1507318 if that would help.
Thanks,
Brook

Where's the car located? I'd be happy to check it out for you if it's in the North Dallas, Richardson, Plano area. Send me a PM and we can discuss details.
