No low beams and rear running lights

Post by Lou Rosenbaum »

93 940 non turbo: This has got me going in circles
all lights work except the low beams and rear running lights.
all parking lights all turns signals high beams
no bulb failure light.
Bill D. had me look at fuse 19/20 low beams left and right no volts (replaced bulb failure relay ) list $145/ FCP $45
Still no volts at fuses. Am I down to a wire hunt ? Is there a spot were the rear running lights and low beams are on the same 12 volts. Since both are out is there a common spot were rear running lights and low beams pass across?

Now I am a little confused. What do you class as your rear running lights? Are they the same as the parking lights? If the front parking lights are working the rears should also work as they are running from the same fuses, #21 & #22. These two fuses also cover most of the interior lights such as the ash tray and panel lighting as two examples.

Have you checked the rear bulbs and that there is power to the rear lights?

when the parking lights are on all four corners are lit with the switch turned to low beams no head lights no rear lights
sorry for any confusion. As stated I did change Red round multi pin relay ( bulb failure relay ) if I turn the relay cluster over are there any voltages I could check from the connector side of the relay to make sure I have contact?
only one more question in the rear from the bottom which bulb should be lit when the low beams are on
there is the low red then orange then white then top red.

First question first - which lights are which:
fff197.jpg
fff197.jpg (17.14 KiB) Viewed 1286 times
Fog light * 21W 32CP BA15s
Back-up lights 21W 32CP BA15s
Turn signals 21W 32CP BA15s
Brake light and tail light 21/5W 32/3CP BAY15d

White lamp holders on the right side, black holders on the left side.
* Left side only

So you should have the bottom bulb lit with either low or high beams on.

Second question - I would be pulling the light switch out and checking it with a meter to see if it is working.

I'm glad you have it sorted. I have little enough hair without pulling out more as I scratch my head wondering, "What next."
