Any TRACS unit off of a 99-2001 will work. That would be any 99-2000 s70 with TRACS or AWD, or 99-2001 AWD car. BUT, if you pull it off of a 2001 AWD car, it's likely going to have the 861**** type of unit where the pins don't crack and soldering it won't make any difference.

Somewhat correct. They tend to go out way less than the other modules, but any module can still have internal faults that aren't related to the cracked solder joint issue. It's rare though...I'd peg it at around 1% or so based on my experience.

I have about 18 of them here that have an internal fault not related to the joints. You have to remember that it's actually a small computer. It's susceptible to static, voltage issues, etc.

Please don't tell us you jammed a piece of plastic knife in there to "fix" it. I cringe every time I hear of somebody doing that.

I have a 2000 s80 where the ABS and SRS lights are one and the cruise control is out.

Can this procedure be used on it?

I have a 15 watts soldering iron. Will it do for this repair?
