V70 Tailgate Lifter

How many lifters are there for the tailgate on a 98 V70? one or two?
1998 V70 AWD 228K - Daily Driver
1985 Mercedes Benz 300D - 197K Off Road For Now Brakes Failed
1998 S70 135K - FOR SALE
2003 GMC Sonoma - 114K - POS
1958 Mercedes Benz 220S 66K Original and never to be restored.
2006 Saturn ION 5-Speed - 150K Son's weird little easy to fix car

I think one on each side.
It's getting warmer, so mine work a little better.
Still carry a broom to hold it open.
1998 V70 T5 331,000 :( Her last day was on 3 cylinders.
New to me 1999 V70 NA 163,000 Now at 217,000
2006 V70 2.5T in driveway (WIFE'S)

If you don't mine, where you getting them from and at what cost?
It's on the to do list, just seem expensive.
Broom is where I am right now. Unless you found them cheap.
I read on here that someone had theirs recharged.

I put the cheap ones from FCP (~$30 set) on...be careful other direction, when it opens it can take you're head off!

I installed ones from IPD on 1800ES' 850 wagon. Getting the panels off was the most time consuming part.

Agreed, the Stabilus ones last 3x as long as the cheapies.

I got OEM ones from FCP a couple of years ago. I forget the exact cost but it wasn't expensive.
Shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to an hour to do. Just make sure you have a length of wood approx. 6' long to hold the gate up as you're working.
There is a write-up somewhere on this site.
