HELLO GROUP,
I am trying to update from factory to aftermarket speakers on a volvo 850GLT, does anyone know what size all the speakers in the car are?
Also, any recommendation on brand?
Thank you!

Check out this forum post, and the link inside to some more info:

A speaker in each of the 4 doors, 2 on the rear shelf, and two tweeters in the dash. Seems like a real headache to switch over as there are no drop ins, especially for the rear.
This past weekend, I just took my speakers out and did some reconditioning. It requires a very delicate hand in general, and care in unsoldering the tweeters to separate from the woofer in the rear deck speakers (you can easily damage them so do at your own risk). The woofers I treated by thinning pva glue with water and painting two coats on with a soft brush. The tweeters are ultra delicate, if you wet them with thin pva they will likely disintegrate - so I sprayed them lightly with laquer. I also put rubber treatment (silicone or auto rubber treatment) on the foam surrounds on the rear as they were dry from the sun. Also I reglued some magnets-- the magnets tend to seperate and fall into your dash or worse fall into the rear speaker woofer and tear the paper cones! Seems the speakers sound better with the treatment, especially at higher volume, sort of tightens things up.

i have the same question as the Penguin what size are the speakers the previous owner of my 850 wanted to be a dick and leave me with no speakers.
If your tweets in the front and rear pillar (if you have a wagon) are good, just leave them alone, the factory head unit has (for it's time) a decent crossover built in. I replaced just the front doors a while back, can't remember size but I think 4.25? Either way it is an odd shape for the screws because of the mount surrounding the speaker, and only two of three bolt holes line up on the ones I bought. You can buy a smaller and build a bracket, but then you have a smaller speaker...
Just new doors made a nice difference though. Just got two-ways.
