I kind of figured it would not be pretty to replace a fuel pump especially for me. Yes, when I turn the key it lights up like normal. By saying
if there is no sense of spark, so one should make sure there is spark.
what initiates the spark? Spark plugs? Because I know I need to change them but it wasn't missing. I am very naive about this fuel situation and I am alone in this. I wish there was a mobile mechanic service here.

Spark plugs may need replacing but the engine won't necessarily miss to tell you that is the case.

You seem to be pretty handy so you can check for a spark yourself. Remove one of the coils that sit on top of the spark plug. Take out the plug and put it back into the coil. Earth (ground) the plug on the engine by placing it very near to metal on the engine. Crank the engine and watch for a spark jumping from the plug to the engine. If there is a nice, big blue spark that one works but you may need to check the others to see if they are all working. If any of the plugs don't spark you have an ignition problem. It may be one of the coils or it may be the ignition amplifier(s).

Test the plugs and post back with the results.

By the way everyone thanks for your input, I did need a new fuel pump and had a mechanic put it in to save the neighborhood.

Any idea as to the brand/background of the pump that was replaced a year ago?

What type of pump was used 2nd time around? Was it OEM or generic brand?

They say OEM, guess I have to believe them? I never thought about asking for the box or anything. I am pretty sure that the one I bought last year was generic. I buy everything from FPC with the exception of this fuel pump. Would you have any ideas as to why my gas tank hisses at me big time when ever I remove the gas cap? I thought maybe getting the fuel pump changed would remedy that but it didn't. I am thinking that something is clogged?? I am not going to blow up am I??

Changes in atmospheric pressure and the tank level changing b/w fills causes the hissing as air re-enters the tank. This is quite normal.

It DOES make sense that a no-brand pump would fail after one year and is not unheard of on this forum.

Hey, hey now, don't be popping "my car is running again" balloon :) At the risk of really pushing it, is there any secret way to get the service light off?

You'll need a scan tool, but usually you can do 4 start/shutdown cycles without an error and it should extinguish and become a stored code.
