Random wire on positive cable, and ETC2 fob battery?

Post by wysiwyg »

Ive tried searching and come up with CR2016 for the battery, so i went and got one, but its too big, its the double button remote from a 97 ETC2 i believe.

Also i have this random 3 pin plug on the positive wire. Whats it from?

That looks very much like the cruise control (autothrust) pump connector. The natural habitat of the pump is underneath the battery. If this is unplugged, your cruise won't work and will generate fault codes.

On my '93 850, that connector is used for multiple items up front. I know they changed that connector type in '94 and later, but it is used up front for my wiper motors as well as the corner lights. I am aware of both of these as I recently replaced them. It is possible it may be pre wiring for something that is not installed, i.e. headlight wipers if you don't have them.
