New Tires for my 2000 V70 AWD

Post by czmom1230 »

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good tire for my car? I need to replace all 4 and would like to spend $80-100 each.

Thanks :)

I bought 4 Bridgestone Potenza g009's about a week ago for my '93 850 and so far I love them. Total cost came out to about $350 mounted & balanced at Firestone. I guess they kind of suck in snow, but I run Nokian Hakkapeliitta's in the winter anyway. The only thing that I'm not 100% happy with is they are a little louder than touring tires since they are in the high-performance category.

I just replaced my stock Michelin MXV4s with Bridgestone Turanza LSVs. They are way better than the Michelins so far. Quieter, smoother and with better turn in. And apprently they don't suck in the snow. {:-)> They were $160 per corner CDN. So far so good!

Check www.tirerack.com We also bought the Turanza LS-V's for our v70 from them for quite a savings....we love them. I'd say they would be good on an XC as well, but others, I'm sure will chime in.

If you're in Canada, you can also check out http://www.tiretrends.com/ -- they're located in BC and ship anywhere. I ordered a set of Falken Ziex performance tires from them and was happy with the service, although not with the tires themselves.

Performance tires don't last nearly as long as all-season radials do, so I recommend getting all-season radials.

If you end up liking the Turanza LS-V's but don't want to spend that much for them, I highly recommend the Turanza LS-H's too. We had that on our 850 before we sold it...much better than the Michlen's, hands down.

I finally bought new tires. Thanks for all of your suggestions. We decided on Michelins. I got the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S from Discount Tire. They were $97 each. Well worth the extra few dollars.

Granted, I have only driven less than 100 miles with them on, but I'm loving them so far. So quiet!! I didn't realize how noisy my old tires were until they were off!! Smooth ride and quiet....I feel like I have a new Volvo. :D

Valerie

Now if I can get that CEL to go off and stay off :?
