Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

I was wondering if you forgot to put it back together. Thanks for returning today. Some more photos/video of your progress ACk! Few close-ups of subframe bushing replacement would be additional help.

ps - don't forget to check-in to a poker table at the Crowne Plaza Commerce Casino, if you are near.

lol, ok... Ya i havnt forgotten, im waiting for parts and seals .. etc. to arrive. I will post more pix and a video or two, the subframe bushings will not just come off with a mallot, so what im thinking of doing is heading the center metal bushing as it will send the heat wave across the plastic/rubber materials and set it free, and with the new ones ill use a little grease and a 2x4 and gently tap them in. I never done these before so.... any updates i would appreciate it.

I recommend upgrading the sway bars to IPDs units. It'll be much easier to install them now while the transmission is out.

so i installed the freshest oil pan using the Volvo liquid gasket/sealer. Im attaching some pix of the oil pan and the before and after the gasket which was rolled on with a paint roller. torqued it all down , BUT i cant believe the very last bold by the oil pump kept spiining, only to find out it got stripped, i dont know why, i was very careful, so now after all this careful and long day i have to tap new threads into the pan and possibly use 1 size larger bolt.

removed the Intercooler, last night , i dropped it from the bottom while i tied the radiator unit and let it hang for now, i filled the intercooler with Purple Power degreaser, shake/swoosh/rattle... and pressure washed it, there was not much dirt/gunk that came out, , the IC looks clean, no damages to the fins. letting it dry in the sun now. Going to put it all back today.

Installed the clean oil cooler with brand new o rings... going to press out the old control arm bushings and install new ones, i will post pix ;)..and instal new ball joint's..

Just wondering if you did a compression test before dismantling everything. i.e. Did you do any top end work? When I say top end, I mean pistons/rings.

Hello, no i didnt , i have only removed the turbocharger system( manifold, turbochargers and lines), and the oil pan, timing components, subframe, suspension parts... The S80 was running normal prior to shutdown. I will do a compression test however after i install my new/rebuilt transmission.
