Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2002 S80 Airbag module not erasing DTC

Post by D4v1dz »

Having a problem with my airbag module. It has never been deployed and now when i try to erase the DTC's it doesnt wont to do it. One time it would say DTC's erased, another time it will say "Connection error with ECU". I plugin in another module and it works right off the bat and erases all the codes and everything works perfectly.

Any ideas what can be wrong with the first(original) module?

Create some other faults by unplugging belts or airbags with key on for over 10 seconds. With additional codes stored then try to erase again.

Yes I did that, caused another fault code, it showed up when i read the codes, I fixed the fault code and cleared the codes, and it doesnt go away... What can be wrong? I doubt the module is fried since it lets me read the codes...

So the new fault code is not erasing as well as the original that wouldn't clear?

That is correct. No codes are being erased even after the problem has been solved
