960 a/c flashing Topic is solved

The a/c light on my wifes 1991, 960 is flashing, as we have not had a use for the user manual since 1991 it has been mislaid , can anyone look it up for us. it may just need topping up.

My guess is that your A/C lights indicate that the compressor couldn't start.

Could be a leak in the compressor hose. my '88 740 had a coolant leak, and the compressor would run only for a few seconds before shutting off again, intermittently. (my "A/C" switch is a mechanical slider, not computer; no flashing lights). Had to replace the hose and refill the coolant canister. At the same time the Volvo engineers retrofitted my car to use the R134a -- the upgrade was rather costly but in the long run, it would've cost more to refill with R12..
