Need direction on Replacing Lower Control Arm 98 V70XC

Post by massauto »

I ordered a replacement control arm (driver's front) but it did not come with any mounting hardware, just 3 bolts with nuts. In every aspect, it is the same as the control arm that I'm replacing...it just doesn't have the mounting hardware.

The mounting hardware that I'm referring to are the ones that the bolts that go through the sub frame and into the square nuts that are on each side of the rubber fittings.

The mounting hardware is on the old control arm...I need to know if the old mounting hardware comes off and how.

I can't find any reference on the web or in the forums. It seems that when I've viewed video that some replacement control arms come with the mounting hardware.

I don't want to be prying or twisting without knowing what I should be doing.

Thanks in advance for your help. Hope I've been clear.

Thank you for the info, but it doesn't say how to remove the old mounting hardware (assuming that it can be removed).

Not sure but looking on line at parts but looks like the new parts you have are for the V70 and the ones you should have are for V70 AWD if your car is a AWD. If its a AWD control arms are different and come with the pieces your talking about already installed in control arm. Just my thoughts on it.

Thanks everyone for the assistance.

Petek153 - you put me on the right track.

There is a 2 bolt model and a 4 bolt model replacement control arm. My 1998 V70XC has the 4 bolt model.

Back to the parts department.

Thanks again.
