O2 Sensor problem?

Post by RogueWave »

Hey guys,

So my 96 850 GLT is having some problems with an inconsistent idle. I have a code scanner and it keeps pulling a P0103. I checked the MAF by unplugging it and running the car without it but the wandering idle persisted. I replaced the plugs with OEM Volvo plugs, distributor cap, plug wires, and distributor rotor.

The OBD-II reader states that the car would be fail the emission test and the car does run a bit rich. You can smell a pretty rich scent of gas when the car is on. From everything I have read on here, I feel that the O2 sensor may be what is causing this problem with the stalling and inconsistent idle. I just wanted to get an outside opinion before I throw down the money to buy one.

What do you guys think?

Thank you

Did you replace the O2 and if so did it work?
