Yellow ones? Are those the Touring...if so, that's what I have. I like them very much. They are more forgiving on the harsh surfaces of pot-holed roads than the OEM struts and shocks that came with my car. If you're over 60K miles on your car I would also change shock mounts, spring seats in the front and look over your strut mounts and possibly change them. Also, change out your swaybar endlinks. These things will make a huge difference and restore new-like drivability in your car! www.shocks.com have great prices.

The yellow ones are the HDs (heavy duty; much stiffer). The black ones are the touring.

Okay...couldn't recall which was which. pfeener- you should give your opinion here too. I think the HD's are too stiff- at least for me. I'm afraid they would chatter my teeth until they chipped. All depends on what you want. I do know that the HD's provide a good solid ride with noticeable steering improvement, from what I'm read, but I've never tried them myself.

I bought the touring class Bilsteins and I don't care for them. I'm getting ready to replace the rears after 2 years because they're noisy. I would go with Koni if I had it to do over.

Did you mean Koni Yellows (not FSD)?

I have read where a couple of guys suggested installing Koni Yellows on the front and Bilstein HD(s) on the rear.

Didn't the Bilstein Tourings raise the 850/S70 about an inch in the front?

I guess that most guys agree on Koni Yellows -- front and rear.

Yes, the Touring raised my front a tad...not an inch though...but I don't care...I don't race mine....I use it for around town and on the interstate- an hour drive to work. If I get new, I'll also get Koni yellow or adjustable, or will settle on some new springs with the same struts/shocks. I personally like my Bilst. Touring's and don't have the noise. But, I've only had them for 10 months or so.

I think with your description the Bilst. TC's (touring) would be a good alternative.
