Gas tank cover does not lock

While showing off the car I found that the gas tank cover does not lock when the car is locked. I uncovered the locking mechanism through the trunk and found that if I manually engage the lock, the solenoid will unlock the door but will not relock it. It seems the solenoid is only working in one direction.

Any ideas?

I found out on another forum that the gas door does not lock immediately, there is a 10min time delay.

it's nearer 8 minutes!

Don't you have a hand book - says it all in there.

Next thing to catch you out - which isn't documented is the air-con blower coming on when you've been parked up for a while. This usually occurs about an hour after you've parked - and dries out the condenser to prevent mildew/bacteria and nasty smells.
