S80 sounds like a diesel engine

So Im at Speedway today picking up a pack a smokes when all of a sudden i start my engine and it sounds like a diesel engine. i inspected the engine compartment to make sure it wasnt something stupid (i.e. plastic stuck in fan or something) to no avail. checked codes with my garmin and these guys popped up : P0014 and P1238, along with the 4 or 5 codes that are always there. i personally dont even no where to start as far as diagnosing this goes and im wondering if anyones had something similar happen.

Can you post all the codes. A video/sound sample would be helpful too.
If its a rattling noise it "could" be the VVT unit which would coincide with the P0014 code...
