In August, my 740 had a whining fuel pump replaced--not sure if this was the in-tank pump or the other. Now, three months later, when my car starts up cold, not only does it take longer to crank, but the oil pressure stays on for a few seconds after the engine has started. If I try to give gas (in park) at this time, the engine slows down to a stall. Could this be a sign of a weak pump (the other one)?
I also noticed that my AC compressor belt screeches when I throttle up to 2500 rpm - it usually goes away when the car warms up, but today the problem persisted for quite a while. How should I determine whether this needs a replacement? I heard this may be caused by cold weather, but winter is 20 degrees C (68 F) here in Taipei.
Thanks very much for your help.
