Suction/whistling sound s40 T5 cam cover

Post by starliner »

My 2005 S40 T5 has suddenly developed a whistling sound from the cam cover area which goes away when the oilcap is removed. There is serious suction into the cam cover and the eco light is on. I guess this car has a closed breather system and one of the vent valves is stuck? Any thoughts welcomed. Gary

Suction is good...if it was blowing out that would be bad. Try getting a new rubber gasket for your oil fill cap.
