Backing out of my drive and my 240 died on me! Only 242000 miles on it.I have no spark can anyone tell me where to start?Fuses all look good.new rotor plug wires.Not sure about coil maybe they dont go bad often.Anything go out in the 240s? Been the best car ive had besides another 240!

Ignition coils do fail but are easy to check.
Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the side terminals of the coil. Do this with all of the wires to the coil disconnected. You should see 0.6 to 0.8 ohm of resistance. Then check the resistance between either side terminal and the centre high tension terminal. The reading should be 6,900 to 8,500 ohms. Any significant deviation from these numbers would indicate that the coil is defective.
Also to be checked are the earth (ground) connections on the intake manifold for the power stage and control unit. They should be clean and tight.
