Hi, does anyone know how many bulbs are in this assembly?
Mine doesn't light up except the little green LED on the headlight switch.
Thanks

My 2002 V40 has 3 bulbs in the rear of the headlight switch unit for back illumination.
The green light was OK and they dont seem to give problems generally.
I replaced mine with LED's recently to ensure longer life than the standard filament type that blow rather regularly.
Also did the 3 in my centre console ECC unit and all look good. I used color white but also available in green, blue, amber, and red.
Cost me $5.00 each, here in NZ. Much cheaper than Volvo bulbs at about $17.

By the way, how did you remove the bulbs?

The bulbs are Neo-Wedge Type. 4's with a 10mm base diameter.
The new LED bulbs were a double LED as opposed to a single which gives a better light spread.
For your interest the website in NZ is http://www.ledbulbs.co.nz/automotive-le ... board-leds
You can see pics of them on there.I suspect you may find an alternative source closer to you naturally.
They simply twist out anti clockwise about a quarter turn. ( gently )
There is a slot for a screwdriver in the plastic base to do this.
I note that the price is 50 cents more since when I purchased but still cheaper by miles and they do work great.
One merely removes the bulb and rotates 180 degrees if they dont go when fitted due to polarity being opposite.
Switch on to test before reassembling, especially centre console unit as trickier to get out for access.
Good Luck.
