Do I need this amp cable?
I have a 1998 V70 with the 816 stereo without an amp. I have an underseat amp to add with cables...except one. I'm missing a cable. Please see photo to see the one missing. Do I need this piece? What is it for? Thanks.

Of course you need the factory harness to use the amp
On an 816 you will notice a little difference with the bigger amp but not a whole heck of a lot

Ok. So If I get that other cable as well, then what exactly fits where? Neither of the cables currently going into the back of the stereo fit into this amp and vice versa. So there must be more to the puzzle. Do I need the cable marked "2" in this photo?
