Electronic Climate Control Replacement Help

Does anyone know if replacing the ECC requires reprogramming from the dealer. My ECC has some issues including a broken thermocoupler wire that I can see through the vent. There is a used ECC in good condition from a local salvage yard that I was thinking about swapping this unit out with.

I've been informed on this forum that as long as you use the same part number which is on a rear facing sticker near the corner you should be OK. I used a USA spec LHD with the wrong part number in Australia and it worked but it's missing some functions. I ordered another from the UK and waiting to see if this solves my problem.

Was your panel dead? Mine also had the broken thermo wire.

Strangely, it still works with the broken wire. Here are my problems with it. The driver's heated seat doesn't work (could be a broken wire in the seat). Also, the driver's side heat will blow cold unless I move the temp know back and forth until it blows hot.
