S70 Brakes
S70 Brakes
Hello, I have a 98 S70, and replaced all 4 rotors and pads. I am still having a vibration issue when brakes are applied. It is not acting like run out on the rotors. It only happens when brakes are applied above 60 KPM. Has anyone else observed this problem, and what was the fix.

u need good tires and rims.
some things happen in a volvo that is really mind boggling and out of this world and unbelievable.
used to have vibration too, gone when I changed to new tires.
however this may or may not solve your problem.

Yup, tires could be out-of-round.

I can understand that if I got the vibration at speeds, but I only get it when I brake. It doesn't happen when I slow down, or at any other time, just when the brakes are applied. The steering wheel does not vibrate, or pull, just a slight thumping sound.

Off the subject but Can you tell me what manufacture you used for the rotors and pads that you replaced?? I need to do the same thing, my rotors are warped so the car sound like truck brakes at slow speeds.

Zee,
I had the same problem at 38K miles and did a brake job with turned rotors and still had the vibes. Changed tires at 40K and it disappeared (later reappeared after another 35k on the tires).
Kmillet,
Nopi has Brembo rotors for a 850 front for $53 ea. They will work with semi-metalic and ceramic. The semi-metalic will not heat up the rotors as much but will throw off more dust. The ceramic are fairly dust free but can warp rotors easier due the the higher temps that they work at (they are supposed to last longer also). There are lots of different opinions on the brakes...
