S70 AIR pump

HELP! I need to find an AIR pump for my 98 S70 turbo. Will one work from any other year? Any other car? I'm willing and able to do mounting or plumbing modifications if needed. I heard that I can use one from a VW. I'm looking to avoid the expense of one from Volvo. Can anybody help??

Look in the Volvo Repair Database...There's a good write-up. Yeah, you can use a certain VW one...also any one from '94 (I belive) on will work on our cars.

I have a method that costs about $10 to fix the pump if the damage is isolated to the motor's lower bearing, you are handy with tools, and have a really stout vise. Let me know and I'll pass on the repair info. Don't try to remove the fan from the motor without knowing how (drilling out the rivets is fine; but the fan is pressed on to the motor's shaft. I figured it out the hard way).

I've also got some more info on the VW repair too.

You can also check www.car-part.com. It is a list of used parts dealers that I've used them a couple times. I bought a pump from one recently for $50 + $15 shipping. It works fine.

If you get a replacement elsewhere, could I have/buy your old one even if the motors OK? I'd like to fix the one that I buggered up the fan on.

I will have one in a week or so that is now screaching.
I found a good used one and will install that one
