I can make it hiccup now by idling in one position for more than 2 or 3 minutes while I'm in park or drive seems to make no difference. The idle will drop abruptly about 200 rpms and just as quick it returns to normal(really annoying). When I bought the car(5 weeks ago)it had a check engine light that indicated the front 02 sensor was faulty. The car had been sitting for a couple of months so I cleared the code and it never came back is it possible that the sensor is gone even though the CEL never came back on.

Have you checked the idle air control valve and hoses? Try cleaning the valve and replacing any cracking hoses. There are two rubber hoses; the valve itself is located near the throttle body. The sensor could, in fact, be bad and not trigger the check engine light.
