UEM-000A Fault Code & xeMODex.com

Post by loungesurfer »

Any insight or feedback would be appreciated.

Took my 2001 V70 T5 into shop to have codes read to determine what was causing the central lock system, sunroof, map lights and alarm not to work. While they found several codes from the CEM and UEM they all cleared EXCEPT for UEM - 000A - Motion Sensor Fault.

My questions are:

1. Guidance on this fault and what needs to be repaired. I don't see why this fault would cause all the other stuff to not operate.

2. Has anyone used xeMODex.com?

Background info:

I did a forum search on this fault but didn't return anything. I've performed all the UEM "reset or reboot" steps, but no change. I've also removed the fuse for the alarm to see if taking that out would allow the other items to work. Again, no change.

The shop told me to replace the interior light switch panel and sunroof switch and the rear view mirror/UEM - using xeMODex.com to do the programming transfer from my old Mirror/UEM to a used one that I purchase and send both to them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

have you looked into the the siren alarm module circuit board's health. Common failure in these cars.

The UEM needs to talk to a healthy siren alarm module, otherwise you get all kind of misbehaviors from the UEM and central lock system.

Siren cannot be the culprit because Motion sensor using different wires.
What were the other codes in CEM and UEM?

Initial read there were 10 CEM and 4 UEM codes, however, the only code that returned after clearing was UEM-0004 - motion sensor.
