Hello,
I have a 98 V90. Remote stopped working. Replaced batteries. Will not program. The remote makes it's quiet little chirp, but nothing happens inside the car. I think I remember that I used to hear a relay sound inside. But nothing happens. Central locking system works fine with key and inside. Alarm does set when locking the door with a key.
Looking for ideas of where to start. Is there a fuse that controls? A relay? Thank you, in advance!

In the manual it explains how to reprogram the key fob. I think it's to turn the ignition on and off 5 times within 10 seconds (not all the way to start, just off to on) then press the button. You may need to either leave door open or close door. Not sure. But it sounds like you need to reprogram it. Check the owners manual if you have it, as I know it's in there.
