1977 245 - Need the cap/dipstick for power steering pump

Post by uchujindoug »

Hi all,

I recently acquired a 1977 245 Wagon. However, the previous owner somehow broke the cap (with built-in dipstick) for the power steering pump. I don't want to drive the car until I can track down that cap and add the right amount of power steering fluid.
Does anyone have one of these or know where I could get one? I've been looking all over online with little luck. On top of that, I'm in Hawaii, so there are really no salvage yards to get parts. Please help if possible!
Thanks so much,

Doug

The pump for your car appears to be a Saginaw unit. Perhaps the cap from a 70's GM car would fit.

Thanks for that tip! Any idea where I might find one of the GM caps?
