2002 V70XC After Market Radio Install

I am looking at a used 2002 V70XC that seems very nice. Getting it from my mechanic, so
it has been gone through, and should be in good shape.
I want to install a Pioneer HD radio that has USB port to plug my Iphone 5S into.
I have the same radio in my 1998 V70XC that I installed with no problem.
Purchasing thru Crutchfield and they indicate that it is not just plug and go
using their provided adapters.
I have to run new speaker wires to the speakers. Also talk about by possibly bi-passing
a preamp that Volvo has in the car.
Anybody out there done this before?
Searched the forum and did not come up with good answers.
Sounds like it has been done before, but do not know how difficult.

To answer my own question....
I found out that if I have the radio that has just the single disk player,
you can just plug the aftermarket wiring harness that you get from Crutchfield,
directly into the wiring harness of the 2002 XC.
All will work fine.
The problem comes up when you have a multidisc player.
I was told then a preamp is involved, and that is when you have to run
speaker wires to each speaker.
That sounds like a lot of work.
Next thing is to get back to the car and find out the radio model number and
find out if it has the multi disk capability.
