2001 S40 1.9T ac and heater problems

That makes sense. I assume that both hoses should be hot because running the water through the heat exchanger will not cool it significantly, or noticeably to the touch? I drove it for a bit today and while the engine is running at revs, I do get some hot air but very little and not noticeably when engine is at low revs. I will drain the coolant tomorrow and let you know.

My heater comes on when I turn right or when it wants to and it is very hot even when the fan is off & the temp is set at 64 deg. doesn't seem to matter what the outside temp is. any help is greatly appreciated.

question regarding the resistor pack. i have a 2000 s40, my climate control works but only thru the vents....will the resistor pack allow the switch between dash vents and windshield vents???

I can also pull up the pdf diagram, but the link to fix the module is not functioning. My 2000 S40 fan stopped completely now, and the air never got warm. I'm hoping the module also controls the temperature (?)

This is a common problem on the S/V40 and is usually the resistor pack for the blower motor. It is easy to change:

The packs are not very expensive but, if you are handy, you can make an even cheaper repair by following this.

Regarding the .pdf file, I have checked it and it downloads for me. Is your Adobe reader OK?
