If that doesn't do the job buy some glass POLISH or glass wax
You apply it like a wax, let dry and rub off, the end result is amazing
You didn't read what I wrote about glass wax previously hahah

I tried glass wax on another car. It's TERRIBLE. I already mentioned I used it and it made the problem in my Toyota WORSE. No way, never again. I used glass wax, it made the inside glass SHINY, it never came off. Then about 2 years later it started flaking off, like dried car wax one uses on metal. Then the windshield was fine. But for 2 years the glare was blinding. I will never ever use glass wax again.

Except no part of the dash was exposed. At the time when I used the sun shade, I had the dash covered to protect from the sun.

Your heater core is always being used, even when the heat is off. The climate unit regulates temperature by regulating air flow, not coolant flow. If the film cleans but comes back, it's the heater core.

You can pull the core without pulling the dash so it isn't a horrible job.

Thanks. I didn't know that. I didn't even know what a heater core was till this post hah. My car is in great shape for its age, very few things have needed to be replaced. I'll look into the heater core.

I wish the Swedes had made it so that airflow could be turned off completely. I hate driving behind a truck etc and having noxious fumes etc flow RIGHT into the passenger cabin. I'm surprised the Swedes didn't think of this.

To clarify. The water follow is constant but the air flow is not. The core is isolated in a box. Turn your heat onto high (temp and fan) after the car warms up and if you smell coolant it is the heater core. Unless the trap door that directs the air flow is not working well and letting air circulate and you have a coolant leak in the core the haze is not from the core. You can usually smell a leaky heater core.

The air to the outside can be turned off by the Recir. button so no fumes can enter.

Thanks BKM. I do as you mentioned.

Really all flow can be stopped? I just looked through the manual, and I see the problem where I was confused. I believe I got hung up on the air mix selector "wheel" for some reason. Man, I don't know how I missed the line in the manual about recirculate button closing the vents. Crap..all these years thinking the Swedes missed something important!!!! Thanks a lot BKM!!!!!

You can also install a cabin air filter with odor removal. Hopefully you have replaced the cabin air filter???

Hi RSPI,

Thank for the vids, pretty helpful! I can't recall changing the cabin filter. However, I'd have to look through my service records to be be sure. It may have been replaced. Is the tube you mentioned under the cowl used for drainage due to water? When you were removing it you didn't show it in the video.

I'll check into this filter, I appreciate your help thank you!

What's the matter with that one? Perfectly good filtration on the passenger side....

Lol, the dude was complaining about the fan blowing dirt in his face.

Not sure the tube you are referring to but the cowl has 2 water drain tubes on either end.
