Not sure the tube you are referring to but the cowl has 2 water drain tubes on either end.
Thanks!

I have a CRV and an Odyssey and you think the seats were made for the Asian market only. Both seem really short allowing the legs to hang or feel pressure underneath behind the knee joint. It could be possible that the Swedes would exclude the Circ. Feature as I am sure the air is fresh there year round.

Any progress with the Haze?

The Recirc rocker switch, that lights up amber is supposed to close the vents, but when I turn it on, the air still comes in. However, if I turn it on, and then close the Air Mix to its smallest amount then air stops. I have to admit, it's confusing.

I haven't had a chance to work on the haze. I'm still grappling with the best way to remove the gear shift knob on my manual car. I've only found a few web threads about it. Evidently Volvo made different types of rods. One model was threaded so it unscrews off, but most were not. Also different Volvo models have different parts, both within the same country across countries (not uncommon). SO reading one person's story may not apply to my own situation.

All I know is that I don't want to replace the gear shifter knob, and I definitely don't want to crack the ball seat in the process of attempting this repair.

If the FAN IS ON the recycle button will NOT cut air flow, just stop it from coming from outside (cut off FRESH AIR). Recycle means, recycle the air that is already in the cabin (interior).

The Fan is OFF. I understand what recirculate means, hence its use to make the cabin cooler faster when the A/C is on

Then your flaps are not working properly.
Recirc button on, fan off, there should be no air coming thru the upper vents regardless of they being open or closed

That's what I was thinking. I know when the A/C is on and the recirc button is on it does get colder, much faster. I realize that doesn't make sense, I will have take it for a drive again and see. I will say this, the air that comes through the vents is always a bit warm compared to the outside except when I drive into really shady/cool areas. It's like whatever vents the air is passing through gets heated up by the engine somehow.

Curious, in some cars you can actually here the flaps close. Can you hear the flaps close in an older Volvo like mine?

I took out the Volvo for a drive to check the vents. This is what I know.

1. If I turn on the recirc button, I can definitely hear a small motor going on and off w/the rocker switch, sound located near the glove compartment box, ie not driver or center oriented

2. Each vent has a "knurled" knob, the top position is marked with a white O (the A position); the lower position is not labeled (B position). The O position is the closed position. When each knob is turned all the way to the closed position no air comes into the cabin. Regardless of whether the recirc is turned on or off

3. When those knurled knobs are in the open position and air is flowing in, and the recirc is turned on, air flows into the cabin just fine. So are there basically two vent flap systems? Manual which works in my work, and motorized via the recirc button, which it seems to be not working for some reason?

Here's a link the web version of my car's manual, the section that applies to me is the Additional Info section BEFORE the diagrams of the climate control version (not my model)

What's your take on this one guys. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem in my S70, I clean it up, it comes back almost minutes later. I use invisible glass from Wal Mart in the can. My heater core is only about a month old..
If I paid attention to signs with little symbols I’d never find anywhere to park.
