94 850 -serpentine belt keeps working its way off the pulley

after putting the serpentine belt on and starting the car it got sliced somehow.

today I installed another one and turned the crank a few times to make sure it was on right.

after turning it, I seen the belt is slidding off the alt pulley and trying to works its way off.

What is wrong? anyone? To me it looks maybe like the alt is 2-3mm out of line with the rest of the pulleys.. but not sure..

have you replaced the alternator recently? is the pulley on the alternator sliding off?

I heard there are several ways of putting on these belts as well as two sizes.. but if your finding that the allignment is off then obviously something is up.

Can you take a picture of it and show it to the board?

Is the bearing in the alternator going out? I had an AC compressor fail in my 91 Volvo due to the bearings seizing.. The pully started flopping around, totally out of alignment.
