I am going to pay a Volvo specialist next week to take the cam cover off again, heli-coil the stripped holes and fix it right- just tired of fooling with this over and over again.

Did the Helicoil- still leaked. Found out the grave importance of using cam holding tool! Apparently the cam cove edges can warp if you let them pop up when NOT using the tool. This is just what happened. Went and got the old head- replaced the bad valve and had it reinstalled- don't even ask me about the total $$ I'm in on this at this point- anyway all is good and NO leaks!! Now trying to get the shop that ruined the head (well really the cam cover) from Stillwater Cylinder Heads to cough up and refund me what I paid them- really they should pay for all the rest of the repairs but I'm thinking I won't see a penny...

An update! Still no leaks!!! But previous leak softened one of my heater hoses and it sprung a leak a few days ago and I had to have the car towed due to loss of coolant. Having both of those hoses and for good measure both radiator hoses replaced today- then finally all should be well. Expensive lesson that can be avoided- Use a Cam Holding Tool when taking off and putting on the cam cover- that has been the cause of all of these issues!! I understand if you take the car Out Of Time you don't have to as the cam cover won't pop up and bend or worse yet, crack if you are careful, but why take a risk like that???

One must use cam locking tool when taking off cam cover?
What if all timing marks are aligned, and engine not Our of Time?

The cams will cause the cam cover to pop up- this is what most likely caused my cam cover to warp- it could have cracked the lobes in it too- but the damage was done with just the warping- it would never seal after that and I had huge leaks- buy the tool on eBay- it's not much!!

I should clarify that if the timing belt is off you have less chance of damage- mine, the belt was on- the rear of the cam cover popped up and the area closest to the belt (front oh the cam cover) pushed in against the head and warped
