89 245GL Wipers Won't Wipe Against Windshield

I've recently installed a new wiper motor and after connecting linkage to the motor the wipers jam and stop while motor still running. I've noticed that the wipers will move when they are off the windshield and park in the correct position as if down on the windshield. I've tried the driver side down on the windshield and passenger side off and it'll work, but not at all with the left up and right down. Is there an adjustment. Thanks for any suggestions.

Replaced the new wiper motor with another and it worked!
