2000 S80 Headlamp condensing moisture

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2000 S80 Headlamp condensing moisture

Post by Oly_850 »

Gents, (Ladies?)

So you guys know I can do top end rebuilds and rebuild horrible transmissions, BUT: My S80's driver's side headlight keeps fogging up, condensing water. It hasn't rained in weeks. I've tried taking the covers off the bulbs and driving around in dry weather for a few days with the lights on, and it clears. Put the covers back on, fogged up again. Passenger side has no issue.

Discuss.

Perhaps you need new seals for the lens. Also consider the "service fix" rear headlight cover. It has a gortex membrane that helps.

Interesting idea to use a breathable membrane, do you have a link to a vendor?
